The Summer Reading Challenge is back! 


This summer, children up to the age of 11 can ‘Read to the Beat’ at all Newham Libraries. 
Sign up, discover great books, collect rewards and enjoy fun activities throughout the holidays.
This year’s theme set by The Reading Agency is ‘Read to the Beat’, inspiring children to explore the connection between music, rhythm, stories and creativity.

🎵 Book Beats Competition

Write a Song Inspired by Your Favourite Book

Turn your favourite story into music and show us your creativity!

Your song could be about:

  • A character
  • An exciting scene
  • The whole story
  • How the book made you feel

Enter by: 30 August
Winner announced: 18 September

How to enter:
Submit your song at your local Newham Library or email Library Activities

Rules:

  • Must be your own original work
  • Include your name, age, contact details, and library card number

Prize:
Win 3 children's tickets and 2 adult tickets to a performance of your choice at Sadler's Wells East.
